Meet our volunteer Coaches and Run Leaders

Richard has been running for too many years to remember, including many events up to marathon.  A UK Athletics Endurance Coach, England Athletics Tutor and a Community Representative on the Board of Active York.  Richard and Katie Ellis founded Run York in January 2009 specifically to help beginners get started, and we are still here today!  It is great fun and rewarding to see people start and invariably progress much better than they expected.  We have made some great friends and thoroughly enjoy what we do.

Trish is an experienced runner and has recently completed a personal challenge by completing all of the Great Run Series events.  She started as a beginner in the same way as most of our members and has now progressed, also with the help of Sweat Equity to run marathons in Edinburgh, Manchester and York. Trish qualified as a Run Leader in 2011 and established the Run York Thursday group from Rowntree Park/Millennium Bridge, based upon our 3-2-1 km routes.  The group meet there every Thursday at 7pm with a fantastic people of all abilities and all there to run and enjoy themselves.
